i have a laptop running on windows xp and i am connected to the internet and i can download updates for programs etc. and my torrent program works but when i try and go on the internet through internet explorer or opera it does not work and opera keeps crashing. sometimes parts of the website may appear or parts of the code for the website will appear. if the full website appears i could click on one link then that link wouldnt work and it would crash again. please help because im stuck

I'm afraid we cannot discuss your torrent issues here (please check PCHF Rules).

however, if you follow PCHF Prework on my signature, we'll make sure that your IE and Opera issues are not malware/virus related - which is what it sounds like it is. Please can you post both hijack and AVG logs for a member of security to analyse.

ignore the parts where i mention torrent then
and i have got that software now i am going to go run it

it wouldnt let me install them two
so i ran my scan on avast! which is still going now
its nearly finished though
and that found two viruses and now my internet seems to work fine as i am posting this from it now

lol, nasty virus's! Can you confirm everything is OK after you reboot? If so, I can close this one.
