Exclamation [Pending] Writing a bootable ISO to Hard Drive?

Is it possible to write an ISO to a Hard Drive / Partition and still make it bootable like the CD/DVD would normally be?

I know about Virtualization and DAEMON Tools, ISOBuster, Alcohol 120%, etc.. I want something that will actually write it to the Hard Drive (if it exists) NOTHING ELSE!
Thanks in Advance!

Hi Ooblik and welcome to PCHF, sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Could I just clarify what you are asking? You are wanting to copy an ISO image to your hard drive and then boot from the image on the hard drive?

D

I would prefer to have the contents of the ISO written to the drive and not have an ISO anymore but either is OK. Just the bootable from the hard drive part is really important.

According to this article> Poor Mans Install - Knoppix Documentation Wiki it can be done with a Linux ISO, What exactly do you have an ISO of?
