Default [ Fixed ] Transferring files

I want to transfer some files (pictures and stuff) from my second HDD to my primary one without the infections spreading to it. As of now my second HDD is unplugged because I just had to install Windows on this one. Reason being is the other HDD was too infected. Could I simply hook it up, boot it in safe mode, and then transfer the files without the worry of infection?

Thank you.

Hi if the cuurent hard drive that you boot off has up to date AV software it should be fine to do that.

It has up-to-date AVG AV installed along with Spybot S&D. Well hopefully I won't get anything on this HDD while I do these transfers.

Thank you
