The slots depend on your make on mainboard,however I assume it would go in slot that it fits in and closest to main power supply.I would of assumed you had fitted it in the right slot?This could be a bad connection,ie card not fitted correctly?Make sure it is in right slot,I also asuume white slots are smaller than the black slots?Make sure all the cables are connected to the right connections on MB.There can be ports on a mainboard that look same size and are used for other things not your Graphics card.

As I said double check the way you fitted this card it could be a simple wrong connection,card not pushed in correctly,cable in wrong port,etc?

The white slots on my MB usaly are for network cards and extra USB pci.

if i posted a picture of my MB and my graphics card would you be able to help me then?

Picture would be brilliant and some computer specs etc would help.

Got some pic. and in a rather "last push" atemp at putting the new card it i realised that you have to push it in. Saying in my head "oh you have to push " and fealing rather stupid as well. Well anyway here are the images







And just plugged my pc back in. The monitor wouldn't boot plugged into the normal slot. Then i plugged it into the graphic card. It booted. and then picked up the graphics card (with the right name). i'm unistalling the previous drivers then going to install the proper one

So do you have pictures at last?Even if they look dodgey on PCI graphics card?
