Default Windows on Hideden Partition...how do I get to it?

Hi All,

My computer is rapidlly going down hill with a probable disk failure (see my bad clusters post!)

I'm going to ask Acer for the Windowns disks as they didn't supply them on the laptop...but if they don't arrive in time...what can I do?

I will be backing up all my data on the advice of Dark Lord and others ASAP and preparing for the worst...but can I also get to and back up the Windows installation on the hidden partition, so I don't have to wait for Acer to post me the disks?

Please let me know if anyone knows how I can get to the HP to get the data off, and then how I go about using it.

Thanks

WIO

This took a while to find But there is a website you can go to Optimizing Windows XP PC: installing, optimizing Windows and imaging your optimized Windows system. All the information you need to install, optimize and create a system image of your Windows XP PC. I tried it first with http: no luck so just use the way it is written. On there it tells you how to use and imaging partition. I myself don't understand what they are talking about .

Hello and welcome to PC Help Forum.

You could buy another HDD and mirror the drive, however if your OS is messed up then you would still be using a messed up OS.

But it would work untill you got your reinstall disk.
