When I boot my PC, it just goes to a black screen when the OS is supposed to load. There is a cursor blink, but it doesn't (or can't) find the boot.ini file to boot. Sometimes it will says that it cannot load the os at the address specified in the boot.ini file.
Now, my system DOES boot, but only if I use a floppy disk that directs the boot processes to load from the right place.
Now here's the problem:
The boot.ini file in the root of drive contains the EXACT same path as the boot.ini file on the floppy.
Is there something that could cause the system to not find the boot.ini file on the drive itself?
This isn't a huge problem, as I can boot with a floppy inserted. But it's not....er....optimal
