Hey Sharnz, no need to worry about any .cod files, only the ones listed in the Microsoft article, and the extra one I listed above. Once you have finished, take a look at PCHF Prework on my signature, which describes how to post an AVG (anti-virus) log, and hijackthis (for malware). We'll call in the heavy mob to make sure that's your absolutely clean of any remaining nasties.

I also ran MS debug against the minidumps you posted and both seemed to point to a file named
c:\windows\system32\VVFTAV303.sys as being a possible culprit. Maybe something loaded from your webcam software but didn't get removed during the uninstall..

hey sorry its taken me so long to get back on here this comp is running so so so slow today, i did a system restore thing to make sure everything from the webcam was gone.. im not getting anymore of them file dumps but then again i only got them when i turned it on. ive done a search for that last file and looked through and through and i cant find it so im thinking it was gone iwth the sytem restore thing? nothing is being picked up with my anti virus thing but i did a spyware scan with super anti spyware and i had 116 spyware things in my system :S .... . . so.. i think i must have something on here but today its just going so slow and takes like ages to open something then things just suddenly close on me etc.

Hey Sharnz,

The system restore will restore settings, and some of your most important system files only. The system restore doesn't always work very well, if you restore it to a point prior to any major updates or service packs. It may have stopped that file from loading, but the underlying problem may still be there. I still think it's worth going through PCHF Prework and have your logs analysed properly. Anti-Spyware and Anti-Virus software only look for *known* problems. This way, you can have your logs checked out by a person rather than a programmed response from a virus/malware database.
