Hullo All,

I have an illegal copy of windows and downloaded a validation crack thingymubob in order to download a newer version of media player. all seemed to work fine until upon rebooting I got an error message reading: " A problem is preventing windows from accurately checking the license for this computer. Error code: 0x800004005"

I have been told by a techy friend of mine that I should go into registry editor and have a mooch about to see if I can find any recent changes. I had a little look and realised that I am way out of my depth and before wrecking my computer altogether should turn to our most precious natural resource; the internet geek, for help.

If anyone has any idea how to make up for my stupidity and fix this I would more be than grateful, thanks in advance...

I'm sorry Billargh, but PCHF doesn't offer support for unlicensed software.

I would recommend purchasing Windows so you have a legal copy. By having a legal copy, you won't run into problems in the future like the one you are experiencing currently.
