Default OS fails to load?

Hi all,

I've recently got a second computer up and running which i've had for a while, booted it up with XP and everything was fine. I've just got some new memory for it, installed it yesterday and everything was fine. I've come to boot it up this morning and its stuck on the blue welcome screen.

I've heard this is bad news when this happens but does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks
Rich

Hi, it boots up as normal but when it reaches the blue Welcome screen it doesn't get further than that.

No other beeps noticed, and the memory was recognised fine.

No error codes seen either.

Have you tried removing new RAM and reboot?

Yeah that's the first thing I tried but it didn't seem to make any difference.
