Hello Darren Welcome to PCHF

I know you said you tried codecs, but it's still most likely a codec problem.

If you don't care to use WMP for any specific reason, try using VLC media player...found here - VLC Media Player - Reviews and free VLC Media Player downloads at Download.com

It's a very simple player. It has a small profile. That player pretty much plays everything...including DVDs. It's completely free.

Hope that helps!

Hello Wadd, If i put a dvd in the cd drive it will play fine on the wmp 11, i get both picture and sound. But all the videos i've downloaded from the internet onto my hard drive will not work work, i just get sound. I will download the player you told me about and see what happens. Darren
