Default [Fixed] Gateway GT5235E keeps crashing

I purchased a Gateway GT5235E from a different place then right from Gateway and it seems to be a problem child. For that is all I had from day one. Below is the system.
Gateway Model Gt5235E Desk Top
AMD Athlon 64x2 processor 3800+ Dual-core 64 bit processor with AMD 64 Technology
2.0 GHz. 2x512 KB L2 cache. 2000MHz system Bus.
nVIDA GeForce 6100
UP to 128 MB of shared Video Memory
PCI Express slot available
Optical Drive DVD+/- RW multi-Format Double layer
Western Digital Hard Drive 200GB
Memory 1024 MB DDR2
Dual Channel
9-in-1 Memory card reader network +modem
10/100MBPS Ethernet LAN
56K itu V.92-Ready Fax Modem
Micro_Btx system design
Cpu 24-20424D00AB
Mother Board 1394 ID:0040CA070307591F
Mother board Model K2BC51G/PV this is what Gateway tell me but on the motherboard is K2BC51 LF
cpu fan speed 1099 RPM
From day one I had trouble first I had to replace the modem and the by Oct of last year the system stop working all I got was a black screen and the nothing. I was told by Gateway that the battery had gone out and to replace it I did by Nov. it stop working again and would not load anything. By the end of Dec I had gotten a reboot disk from Gateway ( none came with it ) By Jan 4 08 I was back up and using it only to have the system crash again on Jan 20,08 by Feb 3 I had it back running but not for long, It has done this now four more times and I was running it yesterday and it started to go that is only running now for three days before crashing.
When it crashes there is no way to reboot from recovery for it takes that file with it all I get after the system restarts is NTLF system missing.
There has to be a reason for this . The hard drive works fine in my old desk top. so I know it is not that. Thanks

Hello Pirky, welcome to PCHF.

You mean "NTFS missing or corrupt"? is a known message. If you receive any other error messages, or systems before your unable to boot up your PC, please let us know and it would help narrow your problem down further.

You say you have tried a different hard drive. This is good as it already rules out one of the most likely causes. It sounds to me like the data on the hard drive is corrupt, this is normally a result of faulty RAM, but can also be caused by your motherboard or CPU. You can use memtest to check for faulty memory provided you either have a spare floppy disk and floppy drive, or a CD-Writer with Nero or image burning software:

- If you have a floppy drive and a spare floppy disk, please download: http://www.memtest86.com/memtest34a.zip

- If not, please download, unzip and use nero to burn this image: http://www.memtest86.com/memtest86-3.4a.iso.zip

Thanks Madmonkey for answering the post. Here is just some of the error message I get before the system closes. APVxDWIN.EXE an exception (C0000005) occurred during DLL Entey Point OR DLL Main IN module: C:\Program Files\Panda software\PandaInternet Securty 2007\ config.Dll
Dr Watson Postmortem Debugging has entered a problem and needs to close.
Winlogon.exe entry Point not found The procedure entry point GetPrivatePorfineIntA could not be located in the dynamic link lidary KERNEL32.dll
And these are more just like the above .
isass.exe needs to close, svchost.exe system missing, suchost.exe local service not found.
Problem in files.
Windows\Help\artice.chm.
Windows\Help\devmgr.chm
Windows\help\netcfg.chm
Windows\help\sysporp.chm
Windows\Help\wmp10.chm
Windows\Help\mmtour\segment4.swf
Program C:\Windows|system32\lxbcoms.exe ( I think this is for the printer but there is no printer installed) This appilication has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Sorry but I did not write them all down . The above is only part of what I see before the crash.
Then I have to remove all wires andanything that is on the Motherboard for about 2 hours and after putting back together it will reload with no problem and run for 3 days and go through it all over again.
I am to the point of using a BIG hammer to fix it but by doing that I would not learn anything to help others.

MadMonkey
I tried the file but my system will not allow me to open it . And before I was able to get back to you the modem went so I had to replace it with a U.S. Robotics hope this work better then that 9-in-1 card. But it has me thinking that it may be to problem. For I have dial-up and with that card and modem my download speed is 422bytes/sec. With this new modem it is faster . But I don't know what all that card dose so I don't like removing it.

I don't see how an expansion card could cause all of those problems priky.

Which option of memtest are you going with, the CD-ROM or the Floppy version? You'll need to extract the files first, by right clicking on them, Open With, Compressed (Zipped) Folders and copy the files to a safe location. If your running the floppy disk version, all you need to do is put in a blank floppy disk, and start the install.bat file. If you have any problems, please let me know exactly what is happening.
