just picked up a used laptop running XP pro. later found that XP Home is also on with a previous owner(not the one i got it from) listed as admin.is there some way i can go around him and reformat drive and install a new xp pro? i cant delete his programs nor am i able to download new programs.any help is appreciated.

Of course th53, just re-install XP Pro, provided you have the setup CD for it? Are you looking for instructions for installing XP Pro?

no i can install it, i just wasnt sure if it would override the previous owners. thanks for the help

Hi if you want to reformat with XP Pro disk it will clean off all old owners files.Then you could be set as owner and admin.
