Exclamation Video Playing Help

I have a lot of video files on my computer, all the sudden about 90% of my video files when opened up on windows media player played for 3 sec. and then it had a message saying, "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file. For additional assistance, click Web Help." when played on Real player, Only the audio played with a blank screen.
when I clicked Web Help it saids, "You've encountered error message C00D11B1 while using Windows Media Player."
then it has a list of troubleshoot ideas that did not work.

Hello Spencer, welcome to PCHF.

Can you tell me the type of video files that arn't working. Right click on a few of the files your having problems with, and go to Properties. Click on the Summary tab, and then click Advanced >>> at the bottom right hand corner if available. What does it show for "Audio format" and "Video compression"?

OK Spence,

Can you download this codec pack: Free-Codecs.com : Download K-Lite Codec Pack 3.8.0 FULL, K-Lite Codec Pack 3.8.0 STANDARD, K-Lite Codec Pack 3.8.0 BASIC : K-Lite Codec Pack is a collection of codecs and related tools

Make sure you download the full version. When it comes to the selection wizard, make sure that DivX is selected. It will install both audio and video compression codec's which should hopefully get you up and running again.
