When I open 'Word' to look for a file the file names are missing. If I hold the pointer over the file the name appears but disappears when the pointer is moved. When I make a new file and save it everything is normal with the name displayed. I am using 'Office 2003'. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

how are you opening these files? File> open? do you know where you saved them to before? take a look @ my documents folder and see if your files are there.

Thank you for your reply. I am opening through the folder in word but have also tried 'file/open' with same result. I have also 'My documents' from the Start menu with the same result. In each view the Icon is visable and I can open the file but the name is not visable in any view I use. I have been using computers for 10 years and have never had this problem before.
