Unhappy [Resolved] Big problem with Win xp and Core 2 duo.

Alright, here's the deal. I just bought an intel DG33BUC motherboard with a 2.33 intel core 2 duo processor. I already had a 250 gigabyte EIDE hard drive that i was using to run windows xp, i figured that if i put that hard drive on the motherboard it would work, no such luck. When i booted, it took me to the windows logo splash screen and then the whole shebang rebooted. After a while of being frustrated i started the process of formatting and reinstalling windows. I got through all the basic "blue screen" install stuff but when it rebooted and started the second half of the setup, I got a "blue screen of death". I dont know if it was an issue between the processor, mobo, or windows itself but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm.. What was the error displayed on the BSOD?

Also, you could have opted to do a repair install instead of a full blown format

Are there any other hard drives (with an OS) you can try in it?

I looked again, and the blue screen said "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" i personallly haven't the slightest what that means.

I've done a little reading, but most the stuff i find is about when it happens while people are using windows, i dont even get that far.
i have a modem card in it, im gonna take it out and see if that changes anything.
