Default a little annoying

once in a while when im cleaning up my desktop i come across some files that wont delete.

i get a popup saying that the file is being used by a program, even though i know that i haven't opened the file in question, could this be a malicious piece of software running riot on my pc.

I double check in task manager to see what could be reading it but nothing obvious sticks out.

has anyone else experienced this kind of problem before?

also is there a way to view what files are opened and by which program?

on a side note... it's great to see PCHF still going extremely strong, it's come along way from the green themed php nuke all those years ago. keep up the good work guys.

Hello and welcome to PC Help Forum.
Some of these files could belong to startup programms, such as your anti viruse, spyware scanner etc.If you stop some of these processes and then try to delete the files you maybe deleting an important file or part of the programm.
If you want to check your running processes then try Synmatec you can type in the running prosses and they will search for them and tell you if they are harmfull or not.

If you want to check your system try this link below and do all the pre-work and post results back here for our security team to take a look at.

This may help in resolving any issues you think you may have.
