Unhappy External HD & Add Remove Wont Open

My "Add remove Programs" wont run. No error message, it
just sits there. I tried this from Microsoft support page:

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type cmd, and then press ENTER.
3. In the Command window, type regsvr32 mshtml.dll, and then press ENTER.
4. Click OK to confirm that the registry entry has been added.
5. In the Command window, type regsvr32 shdocvw.dll -i, and then press ENTER.
6. Click OK to confirm that the registry entry has been added.
7. In the Command window, type regsvr32 shell32.dll -i, and then press ENTER.
8. Click OK to confirm that the registry entry has been added.
9. Close the Command window.

But it still wont work.

Also, I cant open my "External Hard Drive" (Local Disk K), no error message
here either. When I try to open it, it just hangs there. I have
to "end task". When I right click on the drive and pick "properties"
there is no name for it in the window, its blank. The other drives have a name
in the window like - HP_RECOVERY(Drive D) or HP_PAVILION(Drive C).
The Icon shows how many files are in there, but my computer is not reading/seeing them.
When AVG did its scan today, I seen it going through the files, so I know they
are still there.

Howdy virtualwhispers and we are very sorry for the delay..Somtimes posts get lost in the fray of things.

Can you do this for me

Right Click my computer..
Click Manage..
Then click on Disk management and let me know what color that drive is in the little box. and if it has stripes or not..See screenshot below...

We can go from there
