Windows XP/2000 - To Set up a wireless network without a router? posted in the Operating Systems forums; Is it possible to set up a wireless network without a router?
I found this page, will this work?
Windows XP: Set up a wireless network without a router...
Re: To Set up a wireless network without a router?
As far as I know. it would work.
Using one PC as a gateway... was one of XP's most touted features when it first came out-- if you can do it with wires-- why not wireless ?
I think some people prefer the router for "Firewall protection" --but if that's not well-configured-- you are just as vulnerable

I'm not sure about connecting it to your pc without a router I know this is possible if your PC is bluetooth enabled (i.e. you have built in Bluetooth or a Bluetooth Dongle) or by Infrared
