I also run a temp test on my computer as suggested elsewhere. my graphics card is seriously overheating. it was at 148F, 108F for cpu. i was told that cpu temp is fine but gpu is too hot. i opened the computer and checked the fan on the video card. it is spinning and is not clogged. i cleaned it out just the same (with air) and there was dust. i turned the computer on and it is now at 53C, 128F. I am not sure, but i think it is still too hot. i will also follow your suggestion and reset to normal speed. i can't do it during week, but i will also reinstall win xp over the weekend and see it it helps. i have not crashed since saturday morning. will post the results when done. thank you for your help.

I was looking at things in my computer and just found this under system information conflicts/sharing. does this mean some settings need to be changed? does this contribute to my crashes? must say that i have not crashed since Saturday morning.

We haven't actually done anything to fix the issue have we? I'm guessing that the underlying problem is still there, but hang fire until you experience any more problems. Keep the warranty in mind, any sniff of these problems coming back then send it straight back.

It's quite normal to see a device sharing the same IRQ or IO.

Conflicts however can easily cause a PC to crash, however all of those devices listed above were ruled out from the dump/log files you posted in the begining.

From Control Panel, System, Hardware tab, followed by Device Manager, go to a device that is in conflict. Right click on that device and go to Properties. Click on the Resources tab. If the device is really in conflict, you should be able to see the conflicting device at the bottom of the screen. From there you can untick Use Automatic Settings. Click on the resource that is in conflict (IRQ/IO/Memory) and then Change Setting. Move to a value until you receive a "No conflicts" message. Some more information can be found here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/133240

This thread is closed for now.
The computer has not crashed since the first post. whatever was done helped. I reset the over clocking to default and did a major clean up as instructed elsewhere here, i reinstalled firefox, checked for conflicts but there are none. so far so good. Thank you all for your help. It is much appreciated.

Unfortunately this is not resolved.

I did quite ok for about 2 weeks and now it happened again. I have monitored the GPU temp this entire time and it has fluctuated between 53C/128F to 131F. overnight i crashed again. Can someone please kindly take a look at the dump file and let me know what is wrong now. i did a major clean up of the computer as instructed on this site, i reset the over clocking, and i reinstalled mozilla firefox. Any suggestions are appreciated.

They should ideally be below 60°c so that's ok as long as there is not something such as a 3D screensaver that could be heating up the card overnight.

Those logs are actually showing something different, most likely an aftermath/result of your earlier problems. Do you have any more log files you can post that will narrow you problem down further? Also, in the meantime you can you check your disk for any file/disk errors (possible corruption), go to My Computer, and right click on your local disk, go to Properties. Under the Tools tab, press Check Now under "Error Checking". Tick both check box's, restart your PC and let the disk check take place.

i did a clean up of this computer as instructed elsewhere in the forums. it erased everything. there are some older minidumps at the beginning of this thread.

What is my next step?
Thank you
