Default Registry Cleaners

I have had problems with Registry Mechanic 7 in that it prevents the proper use of Standby and Hibernate in XPpro/SP2. This was true on two computers. Having spent ages with Microsof to try to establish what registry keys were relevant and getting nowhere, I fanally gave up and re-installed XPpro and every other program except for Registry Mechanic. Standby and Hibernate are perfect.

I need a registry cleaner to remove registry items left after uninstalling Comodo Firewall, the suppliers of which do not have a clean-up tool.

Does anyone know which registry cleaner is "safe" in that it does not destroy the use of Standby and/or Hibernate?

Default Re: Registry Cleaners

I remember this tool being popular on the forum a little while back but I cannot vouch for how it interacts with SP2. If you use it, make a System Restore point prior to installation, that way you should be able to avoid a re-build
