Hello cuda70

Welcome to PCHF. here are some suggestions for you.

1. uninstall IE7. sometimes going back to IE6 will fix your net problems.

2. if #1 doesn't work then your port out to the internet might be blocked by your firewall. if that is the case we'll have to check to see if your ports are open or not. what kind if any router are you using? maybe your windows settings have recently change. same can be said bout your anti-virus.

let us know if #1 doesnt work.

When one of my friends put IE7 on their computer it failed to work, yet SBC Browser did, uninstalling IE7 fixed the problem, yet one of many reasons why I refuse to upgrade (though I use Firefox anyway...)!

I uninstalled IE7, I was able to get on the web. But I had the same error on eventviewer event 4611 category 54 it was lid up all red. At this point I was not able to install any microsoft updates or reinstall IE7. I decided after a week of trouble shooting, it was simpler just to Format the drive and start fresh. I lost some programs but life goes on Thanks for your help
