Windows XP/2000 - Space dissapiaring pls help posted in the Operating Systems forums; hi, i have this problem, my space from the c drive keeps going down and i cant figure out why, the other day it was at 8.5 gigs and today ...

Default Space dissapiaring pls help
hi, i have this problem, my space from the c drive keeps going down and i cant figure out why, the other day it was at 8.5 gigs and today it went down to 860 megs, with nothing bein done to it as far as i can tell. could someone pls tell me whats goin on? thanks

It sounds like it could be a bad drive. Please go into the command prompt, type C:\Chkdsk/f it will ask you to run checkdisk when you restart, click yes, then restart and let it run the scan. Let me know what it finds.

ok, open the command prompt again, and type just chkdsk, then enter. see if it will run it

do you have a backup software installed? it can be it creating backups autmaticly.

ok i just ran it and i got a screen shot of the results but i dono how to post it, and im about to go restart the pc so it would check, and i dont know if i have any back up software, only the one that came with windows, as far as i can tell.
