Default Creating an emergency boot CD

Greetings (again).
Looks like I'm going to get off to a busy start.

I recently saw an article in PC-World magazine on how to create an emergency boot CD that will bring you up in XP. Now I can't locate the article. Every site I go to points me to how to create an emergency boot floppy. Borzhe Moi! I don't know if vendors are still selling PC's with floppy drives! (No, I don't speak Russian but I do have some old Tom Lehrer songs on CD. )

I recently downloaded EBCD (ebcd-0.6.1-pro-sfx.exe) from FileHippo.com but I know nothing about it. (At Prof. Lehrer would say: This, I know from, nothing! ) except that it will download and install the rest of the package. Hence, I am skittish about running the one tool that claims to solve my problem.
  • Anyone have the cookbook recipe for an emergency boot CD?
  • Anyone have experience with the ebcd utility
Thanks for your thoughts.

PS (This guy just don't know when to stop!)
I tried searching for "boot cd" but I couldn't figure out how to supply that as a search string with an embedded blank.

Marneros,
yes, my PC looks for to the floppy drive (how quaint), then to the CD drive, then to the main hard drive. My question was about creating the CD to put into that drive to boot, shoudl something go south on my PC.

I guess nobody yet has experience with the EBCD software I mentioned.

Thanks.
