Default Opening Internet Pages in New Windows... Java Problems I Think!!

I hope somebody can help

My parents have recently moved from BT to Talk Talk Broadband and ever since doing so they are unable to open any internet page that opens in anew window. They can log onto the internet ok and they view any page they type in the address toolbar, but when in an internet page if they click on a link in that page which would usually open in a new window, then a new windo opens but the page is white, with the packard bell logo in the top left had corner, there is no address bar and no path that it looks like its trying to find, just a white page and egg timer.

I have deleted all the temp internet files and cookies. I have checked in restricted website and trusted web sites and all this seems to be as it should. I have spoken to TAlk Talk tech services and the man on the phone seemed to have less IT knowledge then myself and couldnt suggest anything other then deleting the temp cookies etc, and none of this helped. I have checked for Java updates and the most current is installed, I have also turned pop up blocker off and this has made no difference. I belive it may be an Issue with the Java although i am no IT wizz so am not sure. Any suggestions would be most grateful as i am strating to tear my hair out!!!!!

Hi MelGarside, welcome to PCHF

Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing Java? As opposed to just checking for updates.

Matt
