Windows XP/2000 - PC suddenly shuts off everything. posted in the Operating Systems forums; This problem started yesterday. I do not know why. My mum was playing a puzzle game on msn games and then it jsut closed all the windows leaving the desktop ...

Exclamation PC suddenly shuts off everything.

This problem started yesterday. I do not know why. My mum was playing a puzzle game on msn games and then it jsut closed all the windows leaving the desktop screen. It isnt frozen or anything. I do not know what the problem is if it is virus or hardware problem. Please help. Thanks.

I had a virus from using MSN and it was a very bad one, iv learnt my lesson of using MSN with windows OS.

Did your virus scan display a message.

Sorry just remembered, i had this problem and this is what i did, a bit wierd, i pressed Ctrl alt delete, then clicked on run and i had a program address which i had typed in previously, i clicked on that and my desktop came back.

Dont know if that helps, but thats what i did.
