Default Computer Freezes

My computer is driving me mad. For a while now it just freezes for no apparent reason. I have cleaned out the inside so it's not dust and it doesn't appear to be overheating.

I have tried turning off individual programmes to see if they are causing the problem and cannot find anything that is causing it.

It happens intermittently but it's very annoying as I often type long documents and I am forever having to save frequently because of the worry of it freezing.

What's the best way to find out what is causing the problem, there are no warning signs before it freezes?

Thanks and hoping for your help!

Howdy fruitshoot.

There can be many reasons why this happens. I always like to look at overheating first as removing Dust Bunnies does not always take care of the heat problem..

Could you download speedfan from below and run it and let us know what all your temps are.. If possible your voltage as well?
The voltage will appear on the left hand bottom side. it will say v-core 3.38 etc..

Hi Merlin

Thanks for replying. Sorry I couldnn't get the link in your signature to work so I downloaded from another site, hopefully it's the same program

I have attached a copy for you to see:-

I've also updated my graphic card drivers and my wireless drivers. Are there any others I should be checking?

Your CPU is showing 0c which could possibly mean that the onboard motherboard sensor is not working. The motherboard is responsible for conrolling the speed of the CPU fan. What CPU do you have?

All of those temperatures look too high/borderline.

Where do I find the full details of my CPU to send you?

All I can see is:-

Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80GHz 1.00GB of RAM
