My mom recently purchased a refurbished computer via mail-order. Bad idea. We sent the first one back two times and then requested a different computer. The new computer worked for about two or three months. I restarted computer and haven't been able to use it since. I have a reboot disk that came with but it says invalid or bad command. Her support has run out and I don't want her to lose everything invested. Is there any way I can go online and create boot disk that will work? I am working on a different computer but I can get system information on the other computer to help. Thank you in advance.

What are the hardware specs of the computer and what OS is it running do you know? If you can at least get the Operating System (probably Windows XP) then I can give you more information

This is all I can get out of the computer at this time. It goes to Token-Ring Rom Initializing and then brings up a flashing cursor that you cannot type anything into. I've tried Safe Mode and still have the same problem. The Emergency Recovery disk came from Duracom and the F-11 option of system recovery doesn't work either.

How much did you pay for it?

Do you have a Windows XP disc? Or any way of getting ahold of one?

I think mom payed 3-400.00 for this system. I don't have an XP disc and don't know where to get one. Is there any way of downloading from the internet and installing it to a disk?

Is there a Windows XP sticker on the computer? Is it holographic?

yes, i think it does.
I'm trying to locate a repair disc or download disc to help. I think my mother-in-law may have one. Thank you for your help.
