Hey everyone, I really don't know why this happened, but I have no sound on my computer, I already tried re installing the drivers (Realtek AC97), but it doesn't do anything what so ever. When I goto the audio section of control panel, it tells me that I don't have any audio devices. This just started happening yesterday. My webcam drivers also were removed somehow, and aren't able to be re installed either.
All of this happened after the computer got unplugged out of the wall while it was on. I restarted it, and I had NO sound.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dan.
And I was also gonna say that I already tried system restoring to a previous time, and I still have no sound.
Is there anything I can edit in the BIOS that would do anything?

Hi welcome to PCHF
If you go into the device manager and remove all under the "sound, video and game controllers" reboot the PC in will reinstall the drivers apon reboot. Did that work?

it annoys me when people ask questions and then dont answer, i do understand though that sometimes people just write and then other things happen and they forget they wrote, but you never know if you helped them or not, and then other people that look at the post are left without an answer.
i would say hey probably had one of the volume settings down, or withing "Control Panel" in "Sounds and Audio Devices" within the "Audio" tab in the "Audio Playback" section under "Default Device" (This is your sound card, and decides which device will control audio output and has a drop down list. Within this list you sometimes have more then one option for example if you have a modem, it will have limited audio playback capabilities. Should your settings here get changed you can loose sound, and believe me it can happen random if you use the net Alot it can become just one of those things. Hope this helps someone. i would not suggest people just format and reinstall. they may just have sound muted, after format they will have completely wiped every driver, if windows does not have a generic driver available for the sound card then they have just shot themselves in the foot.
