HI there,
Im having a problem in which im stuck at the boot menu and cant seem to get by it. If i click any of the available options i will only be restarted and redirected to the boot menu once more.

The problem started after i tried to enter safe mode by using the System Configuration Utility method and checking boot.ini.

I got to the menu but couldnt continue on as i would only be taken back to the boot menu after an attempted startup. ( still see windows loading bar for a few seconds)
If i clicked any option with safe mode, mup.sys is always in the last line.

What version of Windows are you using?

Oh sorry, Xp professional.

Ok, great.

As this problem refers to an issue with your BIOS, the best (and easiest) way to fix this is as follows;

1) Open your PC
2) Carefully remove the BIOS battery from the motherboard
3) Remove the power cable from the rear of the PC
4) Leave for 2-3 minutes
5) Replace the battery
6) Replace the power
7) Switch on

Let me know what happens....

Ah sorry for the delay, heres what happened

A beeping noise sounds off for 5 seconds and then im taken into a black motherboard screen. I press continue and then it takes me back to the boot menu. I cant pass it. It is possible to do complete wipe of the memory and reinstall windows, without having to enter windows istelf right?

Probably i can start over, virus free and no safe mode hassle.
Or is there a way to modify the boot.ini file without having to enter windows?
Oh and i really appreciate your help.

Before you start over, grab a loooong drink and have a read of this: Windows XP freezes at mup.sys, how do I fix it?

Oh they said that i must first repair the lines of files including mup.sys by using the disc recover method. This will give me a clean startup without any errors and prevent windows from automatically restarting me because of the corrupted driver files, particullary mup.sys.
Until after then i am able to uncheck auto restart in boot.ini
Though i have everything ready, i think ill start tommorow as right now in my area its midnight.
