hi all.
i had a 37" panasonic plasma res 800\600 which is very poor.
so i bought a new toshiba 37" HD ready lcd which has a res 1366\768.
i swaped them over, and turned my pc on, it loads up to my windows loading screen, then the tv starts to flicker, it keeps doin that for about 2 min then the pc justs restarts, i cannot get to load windows XP on it.
then i swaped it over again loaded XP, and while the PC was on i swaped it over again then it works.
i restarted the pc still same problem.

Hi and welcome to PC Help Forum
It is most likely that your XP monitor resolution settings are either set too high or they are set to a setting that your new monitor does not support. The best thing to do is to put your old monitor back on - then reduce the screen resolution to 1024x768. Put the new monitor on and load any drivers for it. Then increase the resolution to the highest that your new monitor will support.

thankx for you help
i could not get much luck with the VGA connection, so i used the HDMI connection. now it looks awsome plays awsome. but now i have a new problem. i left the pc on and turned the LCD off to go to the shop for some milk. when i got back, i had a black screen, i thought it might be the screensaver, so i moved the mouse pressed the keyboard nothing happed. so i had to restart the pc and it worked. then i looked a bit deeper, and pressed the AV button to switch to telly, then back to HDMI and the screen went black again, in a matter of 20 second. anyone know whats goin on, as i dont want to keep restarting the PC please help |

Does the PC power light stay on when your monitor screen goes blank?
What is your PC make and model?
