Question Could someone help me to fix my pc?

Hello!

I have a problem with my XP home operation system... I tried to reinstal (upgrade) my operation system because I wanted to change the language of my computer. I was almoust succesfully completed, but I had a accident: lights turned out... Afterward I wasnt able to launch my computer because it showed start up a like always but it didnt show the windows xp loading image, instead it showed me a black screen with blinking arrow on the left corner above the screen... But if I press shift + F10 then screen goes to blue and it shows some options, at the bottom there are some choices (press F4 to save and close it etc...). If I press F4 the screens turn back to black and then it asks a message: "Starting Flash Recovery press "Y" to begin, press "N" to exit Flash Recovery?!
I afraid to press YES coz I dont knows what happens then... Does it starts harddrivers deletion or something like that?

Please help me

Hello PCFreak Welcome to PCHF

First of all, I'm sorry for the delay in response.

It sounds to me like you did a full reinstall of Windows. Were you trying to wipe all your data off and then do a fresh install of XP? If so, I'd say you should retry the restore and do a full format of your hard drive when it asks.

As far as the flash thing, that usually refers to updating your BIOS. You shouldn't have a reason to do that. If that is the only option you have during boot, there may be a serious problem on your motherboard as a result of the power outtage.

So again, if you can, try a to start the XP installation over again and format the partition. Understand if you format you will wipe ALL the data off your hard drive, so you are going to lose anything you saved.

Hope that helps!
