I upgraded the major components in my PC recently and gave my old parts to my brother. He essentially has my old computer the only difference is the PSU and optical drive. Anyway, I put those new parts in it and went to boot it, expecting everything to run smoothly, but I instead got a BSOD. Since that problem I have tried to repair the windows install on the drive, delete it and make a new install, and I have even tried a blank HDD and tried a clean install but I keep getting errors.
I start the computer up and boot from disk. All the files load and then I get to the screen where it says press ENTER to set up, r to repair..etc. I select set up windows xp. The screen the says please wait for a bit, then I get an error. I've seen IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and PFN_LIST_CORRUPT
I know the irql one can have something to do with a hot CPU or bad RAM but the CPU is running fine when I check its temp in the BIOS and the RAM hasn't ever given me trouble before.
What could be causing these problems? I need help ASAP, this computer was supposed to be a christmas present for my brother ><
