Default [Answered] Dodgy Graphics? Help!

Hello everyone, a lady in need of help here!

I play quite a few games on my pc and for as long as i can remember there have been weird lines and fragmentation in game. I've recently noticed that my startup screen is also dodged up and there are a few weird dots that follow my mouse around! (i think this is connected!) I have tried replacing my monitor but that hasnt helped and i know nothing more about computers!

I have downloaded content for the sims 2 which i thought may have contained a virus, but i have deleted all and all of my games and still no help!

I have attached links for some pics so you can get an idea of what i mean! Things have got much worse since those pics were taken aswell! I hope someone can help! Any ideas welcome!

Hello SuperGinge, welcome to PCHF.

Do you know what graphics card you have, and also, have you tried updating your graphics card drivers?

Hi Ginge,

You can download the latest graphics drivers for your ATI here: Drivers & Software
You'll also need the latest version of DirectX which is downloadable from here: Download details: DirectX End-User Runtime

Hope this helps, let us know if you have any further problems.

Also, make sure your copy of The Sims 2 is fully up to date - graphical glitches can often be fixed by patch release updates: TheSims2.com - Updates
