Default [Resolved] Task Manager

When I press ctrl/alt/del I expect to get task manager, however, a message comes up that it has been disabled by your administrator. I am signed on as myself as an administrator so how can this be ?
I have had this computor from new in April 2005, I think that this has never worked.

please help

If it's never worked, then your manufacturer probably wants to keep you out for some odd reason. But that's wrong in my opinion.

I ran through the steps on this web site for Win XP Home and found them to be pretty reliable. Why is my Task Manager disabled, and how do I fix it? - Ask Leo!

Please log out from the computer. At the Welcome Screen, press Ctrl+Alt+Del twice. In the username area, type Administrator, and leave the password section blank (unless you have manually set a password on the root Administrator account). From there, go to Start > [/b]Run[/b], and type control userpasswords 2. Make sure that your account has Administrator privileges. Once you've set your permissions, log out of Administrator and back into your own account. Does it allow you to access Task Manager?
