Hi guys, first post

i recently re-installed windows xp to my HP Pavilion, the first time i have ever re-installed an operating system, i didn't have a driver disc for this PC, so subsequently i ended up needing drivers, which was fine, i got all the video card drivers no sweat, and so on. In till i came to getting sound drivers, i installed them and nothing, my PC doesnt even think i have anything to produce sound, i then figured out if i plug my logitech usb headphone converter in, it had something to play sound with, but i broke that yesterday and i will have to wait a few days to get another, so what im basically asking is, how can i get sound to be played through the normal jacks on the PC?

Sorry i relise this question is hardly easy to get your head around, so il be thankfull for any replies.

What does your device manager say about sound and game devices? Anything listed? Any yellow exclamation marks in there?
