I am running xp home and have a crt monitor not an lcd. I was working in quicken and my screen went black for a moment and when it came back on, the screen was sideways. Meaning that the right side is now the bottom and the left side is now the top and so on. I did not change anything and there was never an option to make a change. I have seen this happen with the lcd because they can be swivled to get the widescreen, but have never seen it happen to an older monitor. Does anyone have any suggestions or answers/
Depending on your video adaptor, this can accidentally be triggered by a combination of keypresses. You should be able to access this via your graphics properties, right click on your desktop and go to Properties, click on the Settings tab, followed by Advanced. You graphics card settings are normally found on top on the top right (or in your case the top left lol). Look for your screen rotation settings from here.
Hope this helps, otherwise let me know what video card you have in your PC, and I should hopefully be able to help you further.
I seen nothing in Advanced that had to do with a rotation setting. The adapter card is an Intel R82865G. I think you are right that it is the video adapter as I put a different monitor on it and it does the same thing. Hope you can help me. Thanks.
Actually we found the rotation settings in the display icon in the lower right by the clock. It should have showed up when we went to the display properties, but it didn't. So we have solved the problem. Thank you all very much for the advice.
