Actually the delay is within Cubase. The Cubase input and output meters react whenever I press or release a keyboard key, but there is a small delay before the note actually happens. The input and output latency in the VST Multitrack are supposed to match, but the input latency is 124.989ms and the output latency is 764.921, hence the delay. It's currently on ASIO Multimedia Driver, and changing the driver doesn't seem to help. I wonder if I just need a better sound card.

It's a desktop PC with an on-board sound card. I think it's :

Intel 82801FB ICH6 - High Definition Audio Controller [B-1] PCI

At first I just assumed I would need a new one, but when testing it with existing MIDI and audio projects it seems to handle them pretty well. It 's just the latency thing that's the problem.

Ok it looks like I can't get around this latency problem. Would anyone have any idea what would be one the cheaper sound cards I could get which would support multiple MIDI and audio tracks, and using several different VSTi's at once?
