Unhappy Windows XP installing problems

hi there i am having problems installing windows xp on my pc when it ends to install the first part and start opening windows to the next configuration step it freeze i habe been readig in some forums that it is because of problem whith my hd and think it can be that because i habe a "Primay IDE channel no 80 conductor cable installed" error but i dont now how to fix it hope you can help me

Change it to 40 pin 80 wire IDE cable Kiorenpc.

i habe a 40 pin 80 wire ide cable with my hd like always and i never habe a problema like this

Is the jumper set to CS?
The HDD is wired to IDE 0 yes?

what do you refere to CS? i am not so good in computer terms using english becaus i talk spanish XD and the HDD is wired to IDE 1 i dont have IDE 0 in my motherboard

CS = Cable Select
