First of all you say you don't have an 80 wire connector then you say you do.
You also say that you get part way in to installing XP which if you had a faulty ribbon cable would not allow you to do so to my mind.
Try a known working 80 wire connector making sure the Blue end is attached to the motherboard and the very far end is attached to the hard drive.

Yes i alway habe a 40 pin 80 wire ide cable but when i start my pc it a apears "Primay IDE channel no 80 conductor cable installed" error
Yes i try whith known working cable and it dost apear in the bios and dont apear any error but whe i use the one that works the hdd apears in the bios but whith that error that dost let me install windows.
The blue part its attached to the motherboard the gray one to the slave(my dvd) and the black to the hard drive

So you have a good cable that shows the hard drive and no error appears yes?

You seem to have another cable that also seems to work but shows the error, would this be correct?

no, i habe a cable that works but show me the error the other old one dost work and dot show enithing because it dost work XD
