Default "All Programs" appears too fast

Hi
I have a small problem with "All Programs" in the "Start" menu.
When I click on "Start" and it open's, no matter how fast I move the cursor over the "All Programs" area, it always open's. I know that there should be a small delay, but there is none on my computer. I try to solve the problem in the "Display properties" with no success. Any ideas?
Thank You

I'm guessing Windows XP ?
there's a registry tweak-- just be careful and follow instructions exactly:

Increase Menu Display Speed

Note: if there is NO "string value" for "show menu delay"-- you can create a new one. If you have questions-- post back.

I would set the speed to 200 at first-- if it's still too fast --go to 400

Perhaps you have your mouse set to click once [rather then double clicking ] to open a program ..this would cause the mouse to open the "all Prog" when it goes over it.

Go to
my computer > tools > folder options > general > Click items as follow > select double click or chose default.

If this works please click the thanks button since noone has ever thanked me!

I am sorry I suppose that is a bit confusing...

It should say-- HKey\Current User\Desktop\Control Panel
left-click on the words Control Panel--

In the right panel a bunch of keys will appear on that side scroll down (alphabetical Order) to the "M's"-- there should be a value that says
MenuShowDelay.

IF it's there Right-click it and scroll down to Modify set it to 200 close all windows and reboot.

IF IT'S NOT there (you can create it) right-click the word Desktop-- in the left column.
go to new /string value/left-click it/ a "new value" will appear in the right column--
Name it MenuShowDelay-- set the value-- close and reboot.

Should fix it

Found it and changed the value to 200, rebooted and tested. There is an improvment but I have to pass very fast over it so it wont start. Went back and changed the value to 400. Tested again but there is no improvment over the 200 value. Next to the value there is the no.(1024) in brackets.

Thank You
