I have lost parts of my control panel!
In the performance and maintenance section, there are no power settings visible?
The only things available in there are "Administrative tools and Scheduled Tasks".
I use the shut down part of the power control, like closing the monitor and also
the system after about 15 - 20 Min's. Sometimes I switch the option to "Never", if I
am doing something that requires it all to stay on. A few days ago when I wasn't
using the power control option and the PC was very slow, I optimised the system
using Registry Mechanic. Is it possible that this is how it was removed from my
computer? If yes, then I will revert my PC. If not can anybody help?
Thank You.
Mike.

This is no doubt a direct result of using a third party registry editor. I do not use these types of programs because of this exact reason.
Using System Restore is a long shot but worth the shot. Is there any reversal in that program?

Thank you for the quick response Geekgirl.
I reinstated the last two dates in the Registry Mechanic, no luck. I then went to system tools and restored the PC to the date which was the same as one I had already reset to with the other programme. When the PC re-booted, I got it all back, so I don't know if it was that, or the reboot that fixed it. Thank you. Mike.
