Need Help
Hi, can anyone please please help? For the 2nd time, after doing an Avast boot time scan, my screen is black, I have all the usual sounds a healthy machine makes, but nothing! I did a scan before and the same happened but the pc worked after I left it all night, got a message about new hardware when I switched it back on, I am hoping that same will happen again? Am desperate to get machine back! Please help!!

The new hardware wizard at reboot may indicate why the screen is black. My assumption is that you are losing your video driver hence the find a boot.
Why are you performing a boot time scan with Avast? Does a real time scan not suite your needs? Please look in the Device Manager for anything with a yellow question mark or exclamation point and post back
