Sometimes just reseating them will do the trick-- the signal from a video card to motherboard is very very small.
On an older computer-- minor surface tarnish on the connector tabs-- can be enough to affect it-- when you reseat it the connector gets better contact-- and away you go.
Glad it was a cheap fix.
