Default XP Install on an emachines 620

Hi

I recieved an eMachines 620 that would not load up Windows XP Home. After inspecting I decided to do a fresh install of Windows XP however the owner does not have the original recovery discs so I have obtained a copy of Windows XP home and will use the serial number stuck onto the back of the PC.
When I boot the PC with the install disc in the CD tray everything loads up fine, I repartitioned the drive with no problems, formated the partition and proceed to the install, then Windows XP copys the setup files to the hard drive with no problems, but here is where the problem lies.
Once the setup files are copied the PC shows a screen saying that it will restart in a few seconds to proceed to the GUI stage of installation, but when it restarts it just loads the install disc and starts from the begining of the setup up disc again. this is really bugging me can anyone help
Much appriciated!!!!

Take the disk out so it doesnt boot from the cd rom. Or you can go into the BIOS and change the boot order to Hard drive as first device

I have just realised that the hard drive was not being detected in BIOS there for the hard drive is broken. It needs replacing!
