Windows XP/2000 - my icon destop and other application wont app posted in the Operating Systems forums; my icon destop and other application wont appear i can see it on taskbar... its all started after i change my display properties... plz help me to restore it.....

my icon destop and other application wont appear i can see it on taskbar...
its all started after i change my display properties... plz help me to restore it..

You can try System Restore to a date before you fiddled with something you shouldn't have or you can boot into Safe Mode and try to undo what you did

thx 4 the reply...nways, i already try to undo it on safe mode & still wont work... but the "system restore" i like to try... if only i can see it... i mean it wont appear either...
what should i do?

Thanks for the screen shot, now I was able to see what the issue may be, I think it is because your theme or background is causing this. Where did you load your background's from?

its my background for a week now... i 4got where i load it... the last thing i do before this is.. i was changing the screen resolution setting on the display properties.. then poof!

Go into Dispaly Properties and click the background tab. Change the background to one of the windows default choices.
Click the Settings tab, make sure the resolution is set to 32bit(True color)
