The other day i did a system recovery on my pc as it was playing up. Since then the PC has failed to detect audio despite it listing the devices and saying that they are working ok. Also as the computer restarted it advised that i didn't continue with the installation of the audio devices as they man noy be compatable with Windows XP, which is odd as everything was working fine before.
In fact since i did the system recovery i seem to be encountaring many problems, my computer keeps making these irratating beep noises, the basic kind that you only seemed to get with computers in the dark ages, everytime any action is taken on in.
I'm a bit of a novice with computers so any help would be much appreciated.
I've now been into device manager and updated all the drivers, but still nothing.
Well i've just updated all drivers included unknown ones and everything seems to be working again, all i need now it to get rid of the stupid beeps!

Hi bales and welcome to PCHF!
What kind of sound card do you have? Is it on-board or PCI?

Hi Zelda,
thanks for the welcome.. It's built-in and i appear to have got it all working again by updating all the drivers. Now i just need to get rid of the silly beep noise the computer is making everytime any action is taken on my pc! Last edited by bales leftboot; 11-16-2007 at 07:31 PM. |

I found a fix for you from
Source: Your Online Shopping Guide Free Start> Control Panel > sounds and audio devices (Make sure you are in the control panel classic view. If you see a blue background in the control panel it mean you are not in the control panel classic view. Please click the classic view button at the top left corner.) Start> Control Panel > sounds and audio devices> Click the sounds tab and make sure the sound scheme box has windows default selected> Click Apply. |
