I hope someone has the patience to help me. I have an Emachines desktop, which has been running well for some time. Out of nowhere, I am suddenly unable to boot up Windows. The PC powers up okay however goes to the black "....SAFE START UP ETC...." screen. Whichever option is selected you just return back to the same screen. I have tried my rescue disk however it doesn't automatically run and also I cannot get an option up to reboot from CD. I am stuck in this cycle so cannot actually access anything to attempt some sort of repair. Any tips?

Hello there, and welcome to PCHF!

When you boot up, try hitting the Delete button repeatedly until it says "Loading BIOS" or "Loading Setup." Once there, make sure that your CD drive is first in the boot order. This way, you should be able to boot from your rescue disk.
