I just noticed today that just after statup a i get the Fatal Stop Error noise, but nothing pops up, i checked in Administrative Tools and Error Logging, but nothing was amiss. I also started all the programs that i had stopped in msconfig to see if it would stop the sound. Do i have a problem?

Well, at this point it's hard to say if there is a problem. Whas the Fatal Stop Error sound a one time happening or does it happen everytime you startup your computer?
Also, when you don't notice anything different in the performance of your computer, you don't have to worry about it... Robin

well its happening everytime i start the computer. i stopped agv from starting which made no difference, i stopped all user services from running, then i set every service to run as normal and its still making the noise, i noticed a few programs pop up at the same time as the sound (in task manager) imap.exe, wmiprvse.exe start at the same time as the sound. i was having troubles with nvidia ntune, so i uninstalled it then uninstalled the graphics driver and updated to the newest version, this noise was happening before this, but maybe the problem i was having with ntune has somthing to do with it? it kept trying to load a default setting every 1 minute or so, which i have not used it to overclock once anyways. i re-installed it and its still doing the same thing. so i ccleaned the registry and still the same problem... meah. computers. THANKS ROBMAN

Problem solved. for future users, it was ASUS NBMONITOR. i dont have an asus board with a acpi driver installed so on startup i think it was trying to detect hardware but failed to do so.
