Windows XP/2000 - [Resolved] Clean machine meltdown posted in the Operating Systems forums; Thank you for responding to my questions. I did a BIOS recovery and contacted the machine distributor who advised me I could use my new recovery disk (from recent purchase) ...

Thank you for responding to my questions. I did a BIOS recovery and contacted the machine distributor who advised me I could use my new recovery disk (from recent purchase) to reinstall XP on my old machine. This time I was able to delete the old partitions and reformat the drive. the rest of the reinstall has passed uneventfully.
