Not that I
know of...if the battery's original-- they go a few years-- it's a very tiny current... all it does is maintain the memory. The CMOS remembers all your hardware/config/system clock.
Just like in a car -- if you disconnect/replace the battery-- the computer in the car has to "relearn" all its parameters-- so it runs rough for a few minutes...same idea-- microscopic scale.
